Why do some Americans think of football (soccer) as a sissy sport?

The reasons for its unpopularity:
1. To Americans, Europe is effeminate: therefore, what Europe likes is effeminate.
2.We did not invent or have a large part in solidifying its rules, unlike American football, baseball, basketball.
3.Americans like sports with more scoring.
