To All Prairie Dog Owners....(10 Points)....?
If you happen to own a Prairie Dog, would you mind telling me your good & bad experiences with them? I'm considering adopting 2. And I would also like to know if a boy & a girl is okay? Or they wouldn't get along as well as a boy & boy or a girl & girl. I've already read a TON about them, but I would really like to hear an owners experience.

No they aren't a dog. And quite a few people have them. A lot more than even I realized. I'm not going to just say "aww they're so cute! I want one!" and I'm completely aware of everything. They aren't a dog though, they're a type of rodent. & They don't normally get bigger than 4 pounds so they definitely aren't too big.

I was just at the pet store the other day and I noticed a sign that said they were taking orders for prairie dogs. I asked if they made good pets, and the owner said that they make GREAT pets. She said they are very gentle and that they domesticate very much like dogs. She said she has two friends that absolutely adore theirs and want to get more. She also said that out west there are idiot rednecks who use them for target practice and that the people who are selling them are trying to save them. Anyway, I don't know any details about keeping two females and such, but here is the phone number of the pet shop in reference. I'm sure they'll be happy to help you.
