To purchase [West] African textiles in the New Jersey / New York area or online?
I'm looking to make a wedding dress for the year next handcut lace veil & African Gold metallic prints or brocade, but I can not find places to look fabric. I live in Northern NJ but I am willing to travel to New York, Philadelphia, CT, anywhere between looking at the fabric stores that have a good selection of African fabrics. Stores with or without websites are appriciated, and exclusive online store outlets Wholsale are ok too. THANK YOU!
Try shopping in an area of 3 blocks from Harlem called "Little Senegal" (also known as "Little Africa") at the 116th Harlem st. Between 5th Ave. And 8th Avenue. There is an abundance fabric stores and other import / export. They will also tell you their sources. Watch the video below.
