Carnival themed birthday party on a budget. Ideas please?
My husband and I are having my 6 year old stepson a birthday party. We have rented a popcorn and cotton candy machine. We were going to hire a clown but it's way too expensive. I was wondering if you could give me some tips on what we could do for entertainment that won't cost too much.
Face painting- buy some face paint from a halloween store (if they are open yet). Recruit a friend or a family member to paint. Then come up with about ten different designs and let the kids pick. Keep them simple.
Carnival Games- Get some plastic jars and fill them with water and buy some ping pong balls. Set them up in a close pattern and have the kids try to make the balls into the jar.
Get some small balloons and put a prize slip in one balloon and have the kids stomp on them. Only one person wins each round.
Have a bean bag toss.
Get some two liters and have some of those pool rings you dive for and have the kids try to toss a ring around the soda pop.
Instead of using beer bottles use some old soda pop cans and have the kids toss a baseball to try to knock them all down.
Foot ball toss- have a wooden backdrop with a hole cut out and have the kids try to make it in the hole.
Mini golf- either make some small putting areas and have the kids try to make a hole in one.
