Wedding dress and veil question?
What type of dress do you think will go best with a birdcage veil? This is the veil I really want:

Would lace work or is that too much? I don't want a train, since we are having a garden wedding, so I am going for a simple a-line.
Should I choose silk, lace, chiffon? What would look best?
Also, where can I get cheap dresses? Is ebay any good?
And please don't say David's Bridal. I don't like their dresses at all, they feel like plastic ....

If it were me I probably would not choose a satin, or a cheaper silk that can look like satin due to the excess shimmer/shine. You could definitely do a nice lace dress (not all lace is too over-the-top). Whatever you choose, I think this veil works best with a traditional, classic styled dress (simple or glamorous). I, too, am a big fan of those veils. I think they are very elegant and beautiful. You'll fine a lovely dress to match.
Also, I would not suggest Davids. However, I would REALLY not suggest buying a dress online... you are more likely than not going to get what you are looking for. A huge gamble.
Take a look online for bigger salons in your area, as well as small privately owned boutiques, and try to find out when they are having trunk or sample sales. It can be a little more time and effort, but it'll be blast and you could actually get a fabulous designer dress at a very low price!
