How do I fix the natural indigo dye in batik hemp fabric?
I bought some hemp dyed with indigo made by the H'mong people of northern Vietnam. I want to be able to wear it and wash it without the colour bleeding onto the white embroidered sections of the garment, and without the whole thing fading too much. Can I use a chemical fixative? Which one should I use? Should this fabric be dry cleaned?
I would play it safe and have it dry cleaned...:)
